I Get My News And Drink My Free Coffee Too!

Every morning I wake up, pray and read the news.

My coffee of choice… Nespresso espresso with cold frothed milk.

When I lived in NJ, I would frequent Dunkin Donuts.

Why?

Because I was hooked.

I earned rewards for the purchases made, all leading up to free coffees.

It didn’t help that there was a franchise on my way to work. The on-the-go ordering was such a time saver. I ordered as I walked out my front door. As I walked into the store, and that fragrant smell of fresh donuts and freshly brewed coffee hit my nostrils, my order was being placed on the counter.

I could’ve waited until I got to work to make a coffee from the coffee machine, but I wasn’t earning rewards from that slow, overused, tasteless coffee machine.

Then I started working at Linnovate and I learned about an ongoing project with a digital media site, creating a loyalty program for their readers and I was blown away.

Companies create rewards programs to invest in their customers. In fact, consumers love loyalty programs. Successful loyalty programs offered by Dunkin Donuts, Disney, Reebok, and Dicks Sporting Goods helped them become #1 Brands for Customer Loyalty.

This digital media site is now turning its readers into brand loyalists, something that hasn’t been done in the industry thus far.

I mean, we’ve seen it all.

  • Subscription and memberships
  • Content behind paywalls
  • Newsletters that often don’t add value

But none of these solve the following two critical issues plaguing the digital media industry:

  • Influencing visitors to share content.
  • Keeping visitors on the site.
  • Reading articles and watching videos from beginning to end.

Today’s interaction of content intake primarily consists of scanning articles and skipping through videos.

Therefore, it seems that a rewards program would be the obvious solution.

A loyalty program motivates readers to read through entire articles, inspires them to share articles and videos with their friends and family, and keeps them on the site, reading more and more articles and watching more videos.

All because visitors are rewarded for their actions.

How does this end?

Well now, I wake up, pray, get the coffee that I earned, and read the news, earning more coffees for the future. It goes full circle, with no end in sight.

Your reaction when you earn rewards for reading articles and watching videos

And I can do it all from the comfort of my own home. You know. It’s a WFH perk.

PS. There’s plenty more to earn besides coffee.

Here’s the story of how one digital media site deployed LPP based on Reindex and created a two-way relationship with their visitors.
